I played a few games today against Jeskai Flash right after building this deck, and I absolutely wrecked him. In a perfect world I would have 4 Scalding Tarns instead of the Bloodstained Mires I have going on so far, but other than that this deck is where I want to be. The only card availability issues here are the fetches. Chaining a Thirst into a Dig after discarding two lands feels like the best thing in the world. Keranos is also a win condition that can be relied upon when your opponents decide to hate on your artifacts.Īnother thing I wanted to point out is the synergy between Thirst For Knowledge and Dig Through Time. Slaughter Games also helps in the sideboard to hate on Scapeshift and other combo decks that attack from angles your artifacts are much less likely to stop. The reason I chose to go Grixis instead of pure UB is because of the power of Pyroclasm in this format of smaller creatures and Delver. The sideboard has a few more cards to defeating combo, which this deck is theoretically worse against - especially Scapeshift. The idea behind this deck is to have a deck that can mainboard hate, seeking to win game 1 through disrupting the opponent's gameplan, controlling the board, and then winning with either Tezzeret beats, Agent of Bolas drains, or Ashiok. Been playing Splinter Twin recently, and I felt like brewing something up, so I took some inspiration from Blue Moon decks playing Vedalken Shackles and Shouta Yasooka's latest modern Tezzerator to create this monstrosity.
